If the dealer is cut out you can get it below invoice, because the dealer also gets an additional bonus or "pack" on the vehicle which is a "rebate" from the distributor the dealer gets later, which of course is taken into consideration when setting prices. Also, quicker turnover time obviously. Scion incentives and rebates are big right now, all of Toyota's incentives have been unreal since March. I could be wrong I have to check, but I am pretty sure the new incentives drop some vehicles to below what invoice was a few months ago..So basically they (dealers and salesmen) are still getting their cut all the same, Toyota Motors just eats the loss.
